Hi, Wondering if the camera XHA1 needs professional fixing It won't turn on to at all. All I get a slight blue flash on the HDV sign on the toggle ring when i try to power up.not even playback will wo

Sorry to hear about your problems, Bruno. I purchased a Z1U back in October - yes, it took them almost four months to send me my 10 tapes and two high capacity batteries, but hey, it was worth waiting

The camera shoots in SD, SD Widescreen and HDV. Just adjust the menu. You can downconvert via the camera menu. Best HDV camera of the three I owned.Lou Bruno

Could someone advise me the mechanics behind UPCONVERTING I have no knowledge of that function and was wondering if upconverted SD in 16:9 can actually be UPCONVERTED to HDV without artifacting etc. T

As far as I'm concerned there's little point in upconverting SD footage to HD resolution, since HDTVs are already designed to do this for you. It's true that some HDTVs don't do this as well as others

Jim is very correct in his evaluation. Having compared both cameras as well, I agree the FX-1 has a better picture albeit needs more light. It should be noted that the GAIN lacks GRAIN! Lou Bruno
