I usually set my CBR no higher than 7. Any higher is asking for trouble with burned DVDs. Also use AC3 for your audio instead of Aiff PCM.

Take a look at the media file names. We had some issues with some files having asian characters (japanese ) in the file names for some bizarre reason. Once deleted, everything worked fine.

If its QuickTime, you can probably install Compresor 4 for 49 bucks. That gives you all the FCP codecs. Then you can still AMA.

You may have to install the AJA software codec for PC (from their website) to see the files initially. DNX hd (unlike Apple Pro Res) is only for HD footage. Sounds like this is an entirely SD project.

There is nothing wrong with your file. QuickTime player is dumb and does not understand anamorphic video. If you open the file in FCP or some other edit system you should be fine.

I don't think you are supposed to convert the frame rate at all. 23.98 is in the DVD spec. In the NTSC world, you generally leave the asset at 23.98. The DVD player adds 3:2 pulldown for old style tvs
