Thanks that was very helpfull. So with a propress conversion you just decompress those hidden frames and pixels (an ideal RAW footage) and recompress them in a more editing efficient codec. Makes sens

My bad. If you go on the 'File' tab you see the option for the 'Import XML' grayed out. But you can easily do that from the Media pool. Thank you for your advice
