Red line on map - a la Indiana Jones...
by David Pendry 2 years ago
I know this is a very old thread, and everybody has probably moved on to Vegas 10 because..... erm...it's new and shiny, I guess... but... One way to get a red line 'travelling' on your map is: Drop i

Another way with less video tracks and complexity. 1)Use your favorite photo editor to draw a line on your map, start to finish. 2)Insert two video tracks one with the line another without one on top

I've been trying to acheive some 'moving cookie cutters'.
I have just seen a (very!) brief tutorial on YouTube, but the one thing my version of Vegas 8 appears to be lacking is a 'time line' within the Video FX screen.
I can do static ones, no problem, but where the timeline was showing on the tutorial, I have a large blank space?!
Is there a patch I need to download to rectify this?

Apart from that, I'm fairly happy with it.

Cheers,

David.

Hi, John.
Been having a go at the 'Text On Water' (St. Tropez 'water', to be exact) - but when I bring up the Generated Media, I don't have the 'timeline' at the bottom of the box.
There's plenty of space for it, but there's nothing there.
Do I need to download an update, or something?

Cheers,

David.
Interlace breakup

I've just spent 3 weeks editing a whole load of footage, rendered it, and transferred it to tape for an initial look-see on a decent-sized screen. It was utterly dreadful! ANY horizontal movement in t

Hi, John. I read yesterday about rendering using 'Progressive Scan'. It makes sense that this would reduce (at the very least!) the amount of 'interlace breakup' - and it has made a fair bit of differ
Floating Text on Water in a 3D Perspective with Sony Vegas Pro

I've created a tutorial on YouTube called "Floating Text on Water in a 3D Perspective with Sony Vegas Pro" to show one of the COW members how to do this. I thought the general community might be inter

Hi, John. Just found this little tutorial of yours. Being the sad chap I am, I'm sat here in front of the TV with my new laptop, and your video made me put "The Bourne Supremacy" on pause mode while I
No audio when importing Handycam MPEG2

I hope someone has an easy solution to this. I record videos using Sony HDD Handycams (DCR-SR62E). When I drag the MPEG2 files from the explorer window to the track list window I have no audio file of

I know this is an old thread - but this problem of no audio on MPEG2 is still around in August 2010. I have just spent two days faffing around (it's ok Mr Censor - that's not a rude word, don't worry!
Render to highest quality

Picture 'Break-Up' on captured footage.

Hi. I've just finished a little film made in Japan, using Vegas 8. Almost every clip where there's any form of horizontal movement gets split into horizontal lines. After 17 years in the camera indust

Hi, John. Yes, it was just the 'render' tab that I altered. I'm just going to try the Progressive option and see what happens. (I've got the whole thing onto tape now, so I can just experiment with it
