If the chance of windows is slim, stick with the Mac OS formatting. You can always transfer the media to another drive later that is Exfat. Or off-load temp, reformat drive, reload media. Chris

The HPX170 does not shoot VFR in 1080 or 720p. Is the 171 different You can try a 25p sequence for the edit. In NTSC land with VFR, you can have a 720 24p sequence and drop the VFR footage in that. Ch

FCP7 is end of life, when you buy a new mac, it will not run on it. Your future in editing does not lie with FCP7. Doesn't mean you can't edit with it for years to come, but there's a cliff. Chris

P2CMS copies and verifies the P2 media. As does Shotput pro. Verify is much better then manual drag copy. You can also hook up a USB drive to the cam in the field and dump card media off onto the HD.

You do have to move the keyframes. If you have something keyframed at the end of a clip and you grap the tail and shorten the clip in the sequence, the keyframes do not come with it. Chris
