You don't specify Mac or PC, on the Mac the one everyone uses is DiskCatalogMaker. (http: diskcatalogmaker.com ) It's been around for ever, is fast, and just works. It does export a txt, which is not

Hey guys, I was just wondering what was the best HDV deck that was compatible with FCP 7 for capturing. I have tried a few decks already and they all seem to be compatible with an older version of FCP

Chris- I believe ALL HDV decks with firewire are compatible with FCP7. You have to be closed out of FCP BEFORE you connect the deck. Your deck settings have to be correct. Before you launch FC verify
