Carl - I have successfully used a setup like your #1 for editing 4 camera multi-cam. Your timeline will probably be at preview quality (bright green ) but will not suffer any dropped frame issues. Don

If you are getting the IOHD, you don't need a deck. Capture live to an external esata drive on you MP. The IOHD is not used for editing, it is used ONLY for capturing. HD SDI from you switcher to the

The Kramer is your better deal. As far as stripping cale - make pigtails - bare leads to rca in and attach those to the switcher then attach your rca cables normally.Cheers, Frank Otto
