I'm a big fan of filename incrementing in AE, so in DL work, I simply "Save a Copy" and increment that. As for PPro previews, you'd need to render out a new version anyway from AE if you weren't using

Someone at the P2 factory probably wired the memory wrong.... got the hot leads swapped on the audio. Happens all the time. I think if you put the card in backwards it'll fix it.

If it's for web wouldn't it make more sense to acquire everything in 24p That way you maximize your data rate and can cram in more video at lower bandwidths. Shoot the sports stuff in slow motion i.e.
