Color Finesse MRGB Levels - numerical values?
by Lee Powell 2 months ago
In the Color Finesse 3LE Levels panel, you can use the mouse to set black, gamma, and white levels separately for Master, Red, Green, and Blue channels. This works great, except that I don't see any n
Re: Color Finesse MRGB Levels - numerical values?

You're talking about the Levels tab, right Yeah, no numeric readout. We're very much aware of this lack. For black and white points a workaround is to use the eyedropper sampler to select an appropria
Color Finesse 3 does not load or work properly with After Effects CC
by Phil Hoppes 11 months ago
I just upgraded to Adobe's CC. I downloaded the latest version of Color Finesse (3.0.8) and did a re-install to upgrade both my CS6 and CC versions. Both AE and PP of CS6 work fine as does PP CC. Afte

Thanks for reporting back your results. It doesn't immediately make sense here, but it helps us get more of a handle on the problem. I'm particularly glad to hear that at least you have a workaround f

Color Finesse viewer doesn't match AE viewer

Hello, I used Color Finesse for AE a lot in the past, but at one point I really though something was messed-up with my system because what I was seeing in the full interface of the plugin was very dif
Re: Color Finesse viewer doesn't match AE viewer

I can certainly see the difference. Does this mismatch occur on the main monitor, or only on the secondary computer monitor Within the full CF UI, in the View menu, make sure the Secondary Preview LUT
Wrong flavor of Color Finesse

I think we might have a handle on the "wrong flavor" error when dynamic linking to SpeedGrade. Will let you know if it pans out. As for the project corruption, does this only occur after the dynamic l
Wrong SMPTE Color Bars In After Effect Color Finesse 3 Plugin

Which version of Color Finesse are you running There was a bug fixed in version 3.0.5 on Windows which could account for this. The current version for download is 3.0.8. Adobe CC 12.2 includes Color F
Color Finesse III worked, now it's reverted to trial mode!

After Effects CS4 came with Color Finesse 2 LE, not Color Finesse 3. Do you have a CF3 serial number or a CF2 serial number A CF2 serial number will start with "CFLEP20" while a CF3 serial will start
Matching PP Color Correction in AE

I was wondering the workflow that you all use for color correcting clips used in After Effect compositions. I have been using Fast Color Corrector in Premiere and having good success. But I am having
Re: Matching PP Color Correction in AE

Color Finesse isn't an additional purchase, it's installed automatically into After Effects by the Adobe CS4 and CS5 installers. In CS3 it was a separate installer on the Adobe DVD, but there was stil
Why doesn't my image desaturate if I have made changes to the RGB levels on color finesse?

As the title states. If i have adjusted the RGB levels and then try to desaturate the image slightly it gives it an orange tint rather then desaturate the image. Once i uncheck my RGB adjustments then
Re: Why doesn't my image desaturate if I have made changes to the RGB levels on color finesse?

Jon Bagge is correct, it's an operation ordering issue. The HSL controls (which is where the saturation control is) is processed prior to the RGB controls. So you end up colorizing your desaturated im

Hi Bob
Just wanted to let you know that I've put another couple of CF tutorials up. One on the vectorscope and another one which is only podcast at the moment and will go live later this week is on waveform monitors in CF. I have also pointed out in both that Test Gear is available and given the SA website.

Let me know what you think

Approach Using Color Finesse's WVM and Vectorscope

I took a quick crack at this to see what I could do. I've found that curves are particularly useful for this kind of faded-photo situation, since the underlying problem is that you've lost most of the
