Well, I have managed to do it i think. I have added a quick transition (dissolve) to the clip. Then used BCC with "Title-Matte" to create a blur-in effect. Looks Nice. Once I save the effect to my bin

I am not sure this would be considered a fix as much as a workaround. I can ingest with iMovie 08. So atleast I can get the footage in, although iMovie automatically selects the Apple Intermediate cod
